Then we head to the Mirador de Taray, a viewpoint with spectacular views of the Sacred Valley. Our next stop will be the Pisaq archeological site, an ancient Inca settlement, built on the top of the mountain, where you will see impressive agricultural terraces, tombs, palaces, houses surrounded by huge walls. After exploring, you will drive to the city of Pisaq to visit the handicraft market, very famous because local artisans , sells their own products directly to the tourist.
We then visited the archeological site of Moray, also known as “The Greenhouses of the Incas”, an evolutionary basin of ecological difference. The terrace levels are carved into a large bowl by the Incas. The terraces have varied microclimates depending on the depth of the bowl. It is believed that they were used by the Incas to discover the optimal growing conditions for their crops.
Continuing our journey to the colonial city of Maras, heading up our downhill walk to the pre-Inca salt mine. The salt flats were used for salt extraction since before Inca times. A hot spring at the top of the valley discharges a small stream of water highly loaded with salt, which is diverted to the salt flats and evaporated to produce salt that is used for human and animal consumption. Finally we head to Ollantaytambo, having some time to explore the ancient Inca village and the enormous Inca ruins, there we will have a visit with our guide. Here we have our hotel night in Ollantaytambo to be ready for the beginning of the Inca trail the next day.

Along the way we will have magnificent views of the Urubamba River valley, as well as a beautiful waterfall located a few minutes from Wiñay Wayna. Later we will continue towards the Inti Punku or Puerta del Sol, approximately 1 hour of walking in a landscape of forest eyebrows we will see for the first time the sacred city of Machu Picchu located at (2450 meters above sea level). We will descend in approximately 40 minutes, arriving at the top to the “Guardian’s House.” Then we will take the bus to Aguas Calientes (approximately 25 minutes).
Day 3 Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cuzco
We will have our breakfast at approximately 5:30 am and then take the bus that will take us to the Machu Picchu control, this is recommended for our travelers since at this time the scene is less crowded, and in this way we take advantage of the tranquility of this sacred place ; Our short staying in Machupicchu will be for approximately 2 hours to 2:30 hours. We will have enough time to learn about the Inca culture.
After the visit to Machupicchu we returned to the town of Aguas Calientes for our lunch, and boarded our train at 14:55 / 15:20 which will take us from Aguas Calientes – Ollantaytambo.
