What makes this journey special?
It’s the journey that connects you to the essence of Peru – from Inca heritage and Andean communities to stunning landscapes and sacred sites, every step is a story to be lived.
Discover three of the most iconic destinations in the Peruvian Andes on a 4-day, 3-night journey. Explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas, discover the legendary citadel of Machu Picchu and experience the adventure of hiking to Rainbow Mountain.
This journey combines archaeology, Andean culture and high-altitude landscapes with private transportation, professional guides, selected accommodation and carefully organized experiences, allowing you to enjoy Cusco and its surroundings without worrying about the logistics
We begin the day at 7:30 a.m. with a private pickup from your hotel in Cusco. From there, we head into the Sacred Valley of the Incas, starting with a stop at the Taray Viewpoint, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the Urubamba Valley and its traditional Andean communities.
Continue to the Pisac Archaeological Site, one of the most important Inca sites in the Sacred Valley. Explore its impressive agricultural terraces, ancient structures and ceremonial areas while learning about the history and engineering of the Inca civilization. After the archaeological visit, descend to Pisac Market, where you can discover local handicrafts and traditional Andean products.
After lunch in Urubamba, continue to Moray, an extraordinary Inca agricultural complex formed by concentric terraces built into a natural depression. Your guide will explain how the different levels created distinct microclimates and their possible role in agricultural experimentation.
Next, visit the Maras Salt Mines (Salineras), where thousands of salt pools are fed by a natural underground saltwater spring. The combination of the salt terraces and surrounding mountains creates one of the most distinctive landscapes in the Sacred Valley.
Our final stop is Ollantaytambo, one of the best-preserved Inca settlements in Peru. Explore its impressive archaeological complex and terraces before continuing by train toward Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, check in at your hotel and rest before your Machu Picchu visit the following day.
Train Schedule
Ollantaytambo → Aguas Calientes: 7:04 p.m. → 8:45 p.m.

Enjoy a guided tour of approximately two hours, exploring the most important sectors of Machu Picchu and learning how the site is divided into agricultural, residential, and religious areas. Your guide will share insights into Inca engineering, spirituality, and daily life within this extraordinary sanctuary.
Following the visit, return by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included). Depending on your train departure time, you may have free time for shopping, sightseeing, or visiting the local museum or hot springs.
In the afternoon, board the Vistadome Train back to Ollantaytambo (departure options: 4:22 pm, 4:43 pm or 6:20 pm), enjoying scenic views along the Urubamba River and glimpses of Wiñay Wayna high on the canyon walls. Upon arrival, our private driver will transfer you to your hotel in Cusco.

We were lucky enough to live this adventure in a small group: just the three of us together with Urpi, an extraordinary guide. His knowledge, charisma and the detailed way of explaining each story and data made the tour even more special.

I had the most wonderful time in my visit to Cuzco and Machu Picchu with Andean Road. Jim who is a native from Cuzco truly loves and knows his city by heart, he was able to recommend the best places and activities on that dreamlike spot. The trip by train to Machu Picchu town and the Inca citadel was well organized, I didn’t have to worry about the tickets or logistics and just focused on making great memories for life .
